How do you select wich frequency you connect to for each device with only one SSID for the entire router, or can you set up an SSID for each frequency? 2.4 vs 5?
Deco Mesh WiFi systems utilize the same SSID for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies for a seamless, unified Mesh WiFi experience. The 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs cannot be separated as this would disrupt the essence of seamless Mesh WiFi. As for selecting which frequency to connect to - this is entirely achieved by each client device (i.e. smartphone, computer, etc.) Client devices are responsible for determining which frequency to prioritize. Some WiFi client devices may provide the option of manually configuring which band to prioritize in their settings menu. Please consult with each client device's WiFi configuration documentation for more info.
