Brand new Archer c5400x not working.
I just received yesterday my new Archer c5400x.
Unfortunately after 3 hours of troubleshooting it's still doesn't work.
I am familiar with router setups for years and never saw that before, wondering if the unit is defective.
I get this blinking pattern - white - and then blinking orange, and then it starts the same again.
What I have tried:
- Reset my modem many times.
- Reset my router.
- Try to get access to the router 192.168.0.1
I understand that the router is not communicating with the modem, or vice-versa.
The thing that I don't understand is WHY I can't connect to any of the 8 ports with my laptop. It's like if the ports are all deactivated (I can't even see communicating lights on my laptop RJ45 ports).
Also I don't see it when I scan WIFI.
With my other routers, if I just plug the power and a network cable to any of the ports I can connect to it a manage it, and I can also see it through wifi, but not this ONE!
Is it defective, or stuck in the boot sequence??
thanks for any help, I will wait for your suggestions and if it doesn't work I will return it.

Ok thank you, yes I did the factory reset many times. Next thing I didn't try is to unplug the coax cable from my modem, but even that doesn't make sense if I'm not able to communicate with all other ports on the router.

Let is start with the EASY questions first, the color of the Logo, what is it?
RED or OFF would indicate a problem with the router for sure.
Solid White, router problem.
Not white, try a PING command to either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, what happens?

It goes white for a second or 2 then pulse orange for a while then goes white again... keeps doing this forever.
impossible to ping like I said all the 8 ports doesn't send any data (little lights on the RJ45 connector are always OFF).
I can do a video of the light behavior if you want to.

Sounds like it is in a reboot cycle, powers up, reboots, powers up.
If a RESET using the back button doesn't work, it could be a power supply issue? Disconnect the router, take it to another room and see if it boots up? If it does, check the ports including the WAN port and make sure they are clear and not damaged. Continues, contact Support or I guess return it as defective to the point of purchase?
