A friend of mine picked up a tp-link deco x20.  He disabled the wireless settings on his broadband router that's running a 192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0 subnet with DHCP enabled.  The DHCP leases start at 192.168.1.3 and ends at 192.168.1.254.  The deco added itself to that subnet no problem and appears to publish DHCP to it's own subnet running on 192.168.68.1/255.255.252.0.

So things appeared to run smoothly with the laptops on the wireless hitting the internet just fine.  The only snag that came up today was when you try to print from a wired connection plugged into the broadband router to a wireless printer.  Likewise if we disable the wireless on the printer and plug it physically into the broadband router we can print from the non-wireless computers just fine.  But the wireless computers can't see it.

Has anyone run into this before with their deco units?  Is there a setting that I'm missing that needs enabled on the unit?

@Dan_F

One way that will probably solve that is to set the Deco in Access Point mode: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1842/

It will lost the router features but will be on the same network as the main router so all the devices will be able to see each other. The wireless mesh capabilities will still work normally.
