@Gotalot  Hello everyone,

The 'underline' means underscore, which is not necessary for creating a login password,  numbers and letters are safe enough as login password for the range extender.  ( please avoid using special symbols when create login password for RE, or this warning may pop up)

Make sure your Tether app is up-to-date as the new version APP should have removed this hint when creating login password for RE.

If you could not  log into Range extender on Tether or Web,  try a factory reset on RE and create a new login password :

Reset: with the RE powered on, use a pin to press the reset hole until all the Leds flash once

If you still have the ' underline' note on the Tether app, may I know the hardware version of your range extender on the back label, and your Tether app version, thank you.

@Tony  @Maounde @dgilbe I am having this same issue too. Trying to "Create a local password to manage your device" and using the iphone app and it won't accept any password that I create (and I'm using upper case, lower case letter, digits and underscores). Please help @Tony

Just use the password same as your current WiFi password it will work. @walker44

@Maounde

I had to keep it VERY simple with an underscore - it accepted it.

@Tphelp766 Hello,

You could create a login password without underscore, may I know the hardware version of your range extender on the back label, and your Tether app version, thank you.

@Yaj and All

use _ first at the start of your password if you're using iPhone. Thanks.
