Model: Archer A10
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

I'm trying to buy an TP-LINK A6 AC1200. Read some reviews and one of the review mentioned it won't work with DOCSIS 3.0 modem? Any ideas?

The Archer A6 is a typical wireless router so as long as an internet connection is being passed from the modem to the router via Ethernet it will work.

What likely happened is that the users of the new A6 connected it to the modem, but the modem did not recognize the new router so what needs to be done is the router should remain on, and the modem only rebooted. That will then get the internet working to the Archer A6.

The DOCSIS (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) is for a modem, not a router. If you have a Gateway (modem router compo), you need to replace it with either another Gateway or a separate modem and router. If replacing a modem or a Gateway, check with you ISP to ensure you get a compatible one. The A6 is just a router which plugs into a modem via an Ethernet cable.
