Model: Archer A20
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

I am trying to purchase an Archer A20, but all online sellers are quoting "out of stock" or "back ordered".  I placed an order through 123Security, but now they tell me to expect at least a 4-5 week delay.

Is this shortage actual, or is there another way to purchase this router and take a more reasonable delivery time?

Is this router still in active production?

@CWT

Might want to look at B&H Photo, https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/replacement_for/1474741-REG/tp_link_archer_a20_ac4000_mu_mimo.html

It states available by 7/27.

Note that the same router is discontinued, probably the V1 like I have. The one coming is a V3. Maybe it isn't fully shipped yet?

I asked before what the differences in versions was, never got an answer, see https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/206270

@CWT

The v1 is End of Life, the v3 is the current one on the market.

The differences would be the new box it comes in, and the processor like @IrvSp pointed out, the v1 had a quadcore the v3 has a dual-core.

@Tony

That link I posted was about what seemed to be errors in the TP-Link on the CPU. It was the V1 that was listed at Dual-core which was wrong as the physical box called out Quad-core, as did the link for the V3. Are you now saying the V3 was wrong, it isn't Quad-core but Dual-core? Hmm, the web page spec's do show that now... I guess they were reversed originally?

Original post was really about not being able to purchase the V3 though, I just speculated it is because it is a new version and may not be everywhere yet?

@IrvSp Thanks.  B&H also shows being "Out of Stock"  So, I guess I will just need to be patient and wait the 4-6 weeks...

I have already got an order in....so even though B&H is forecasting a date that is under 2 wks out, I think I will just be patient rather than try to cancel the existing order and then place a new one with B&H. Thanks though, for your efforts and research.
