Hello All,

I currently have one of these:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IUDUJE0/

(I'll call this the "origin" network below)

It works great.  So great, in fact, that I wanted to buy a new TP-Link router and build a subnet on it. 😁

This is what I am getting:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N1L5HX1/

(I'll call this this "subnet" below)

What I want to do is: attach the subnet to the origin, and allow the subnet to see the origin, but do not want any device on the origin to see the subnet.

Is this possible with these two routers?  Am I even on the right track?  I am a bit of a networking newb and am actually doing this to learn more (and to validate assumptions/understanding).

Thank you for any assistance/context/insight/suggestions you can provide!

@TPLDem

You might want to look here, https://www.techspot.com/community/topics/i-want-to-connect-2-wi-fi-routers-to-create-2-separate-networks.152424/

There could be other configurations too. Depends on 'who' can see 'what' even. Like a USB drive on a router shared across all possible connections. I'll assume all want to use the Internet as well.

If the above isn't what you want, some Google searches might help you out.

Funny you mention that @IrvSp because that's all I have been doing this morning. 😂  I have not had much luck so that's why I am posting here.

That article looks promising!  Thank you for providing it.  I will see if I can use it when the new router arrives tomorrow and post here with any questions/success I have.  Thanks again!
