Model: Archer C7
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: havent a clue

am just needing to understand routers and updating firmware and or drivers! I have tried all versions V3 to V5 all give same error of 18005 so is it safe to say routers no matter what brand you purchase are stuck with as built versions?

I find it ironic if true seeing bad people can do bad things and we cannot update to newer safer versions of our routers or am I mistaken?

Most likely there are hardware differences in the different versions of the routers preventing the firmware running.

@not8so.much

You can only update the firmware of a router using the firmware of the same hardware version. If your your router is version 2, you can only use firmware meant for version 2.
