Model: Deco P9
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.1 Build 20190731 Rel. 19372

I have various lights that attach to my Alexa.  They all operate on the 2.4GHZ network.  With the P9, both networks use the same SSID.

When I switched to the P9 all of my lights reconnected no problem since I used the old SSID and password except one.  With my old system, I had seperate SSID's for the 2.4 and 5GZH networks so setting my phone to set up the lights was easy, I just connected to the 2.4GHZ network.

Now, the phones connect automatically to the 5GHZ network and there is no way to force a connection to the 2.4GZH network.  Thus, I can not reprogram the light.

Is there a way to force a phone, tablet etc to the 2.4GHZ network or turn off the 5GZH network?

Not having this capability causes a real issue.  I thought ahead and used the SSID/PW combo for the 2.4GHZ network of the old system, those that decide to use a new SSID/PW combo are SOL.

BTW, when will this mysterious firmware update that seems to be the panacea for all our issues be released?

Thanks

@Ggab

Once the update for the Deco P9 is out (no exact date), you will have that ability to enable/disable wireless radios.

@Tony All due respect, we have been hearing that for a long time.

MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Putting out a product with 75% functionality makes it seem like it is rushed to market.

Word of that gets around, it becomes a marketing and sales nighmare.

@Ggab I don't have a Deco so this is just based on my prepurchase research. Can the Guest network be restricted to only provide a 2.4 GHz connection?

@Tony Could you advise if since your reply if this firmwear update has been issued yet and that there is an ability to temporarily turn off 5ghz? I am looking to buy soon.
