While trying to connect a TP LINK Extender using Tether I was not able to connect to my own WIFI but was given access AND the password to my neighbor's extender!
I am thinking neighbors extender was not configured. When a extender is defaulted it will brodcast the default TP-Link network name, and it will not be password protected so any wireless device can connect.
Once the extender is configured, the network name will change to what ever name you configure, and it will use the same wireless password of the router the extender is connected to to secure itself.
