Deco M9 Plus time incorrect
Deco M9 Plus time incorrect
The time on my Deco M9 Plus mesh system is off about 5 hours. I confirmed that the continent and region are correct in the web UI.
I am located in Denver Colorado which observes daylight savings time.
Troubleshooting steps:
- My deco says it has the latest firmware
- Rebooting my two M9 units results in the same behavior (unplugging power from both units then powering on the main unit then powering on the extender)
- Changing the time to a different region results in the correct time for that region, except for regions which observe daylight savings time.
If I change the region back to my region the time is off only one hour due to daylight savings time. Then several minutes later the time updates again automatically again and goes back to being off 5 hours.
Issues identified:
- Daylight savings time is not observed in Denver
- The automatic time update function does not properly calculate and/or retrieve the correct time.
This issue also affects parental time restrictions and the light timing.

@jpie Got word from @Tony that TP-Link made a change in their servers. It solved the issue I and a few others were having with the M5. Bet it solves the issue for you, too. See the thread at https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/199836. You can confirm by looking at the time settings in the web app (follow instructions Tony gave earlier in this thread).

@jpie I'm having this problem as well, I have an M3 and I am in Texas. I thought I was going crazy. I've tried everything you have and attained the same results. Hopefully a fix arrives soon.

@Tony Thank you for your reply.
I found and followed the FAQ you provided during my troubleshooting prior to submitting my original post. Following the FAQ and changing the region DOES NOT WORK to resolve the issue.
Please re-read my original post, which indicates that I have already performed the steps in the FAQ without success.
My troubleshooting steps above indicates that there are two issues with the time feature in the Deco software:
1. Daylight savings time is not observed for regions with daylight savings time.
2. There is a periodic time auto update function in the Deco software that is updating the time incorrectly.
