Hello,

It seems there is an issue with my Archer Cable modem and VPN Pass Thru.  When I try and connect to a VPN at one of my customers it just spins. I have tried 5 different VPN servers,  All do the same thing.  If I connect my computer to my Phones Hot Spot they all connect fine.  Is anyone aware of an issue with this router and VPN pass Thru?

Thanks

Brian

Hi Brian,

The TP-Link Gateways such as the Archer CR700  and CR1900 do have passthrough but it is limited to IPsec and PPTP traffic.  To ensure these are enabled go Advanced - NAT Forwarding - Options and ensure the boxes are checked.

Yes they are enabled.  This is a PPTP VPN.   We are an IT support firm so pretty good at setting up VPN's but something is blocking it and it sure looks like it's this router.  As I can use my Phone's HOT Spot as well as a Wi-Fi at other locations.   Just really Strange.

Thanks Carl

Do you need to have the Mac address in the Section that says Mac pass thru?

I do not believe so, but I can have the software team look into it.  Are there any other prudent details you can provide before i do?

Not that I can think of at this point.
