@ilub best thing to do. I did wait too long on my side and I regret it.

This router is garbage. Setup both ways IP and Tether. QoS was all disabled. Was getting worse download speeds than my old Nighthawk router. Going back to Amazon.

Delete the Tether app and factory reset the router? I have worked in IT for quite a few years and that is about the silliest thing I've ever heard. (Keep reading)

I discovered after getting the AX3000 a couple weeks back my top end speed wired was 720mpbs, definitely not the 950ish Cox is supposed to provide. I contacted Cox like a jackass and they insisted I bypass the router. I've dealt with Cox many times before over speed issues and I have never had a different speed bypassing the router when I'm using a wired connection. Well lo and behold Cox was bringing it home this time, no speed issues directly connected.

So I went through every setting on the router. QOS, already off, firewall off, nothing else out of the ordinary. Issue persists. Well my mind is now officially blown because getting rid of the Tether app and factory resetting this router completely fixed the issue.

TP Link y'all need to figure this out cause that is about the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. You've got a really nice app, it is super convenient to use but a total waste of time when you're killing 25-40% of my bandwidth with it. Its time to stop pretending this isn't an issue because it 100% is. Something is going on whatever it may be.

I bought the AX50 a few weeks ago and have really been strongly disappointed by the behavior of the router. The QoS simply does not work and worse still throttles the speed both in LAN and Wifi. In addition to the above, the traffic meter shows anything but the correct information, however in the priority of devices the volume of information is correct.
TP Link needs a strong revision of the firmware of this router!

And why is always not loading correctly each time I login!  (F5 to reload each time)

Firmware version : 1.0.9 Build 20200708 rel.55037(5553)
Hardware version: Archer AX50 v1.0

@CristMog the router overheats. Like all the time. Overheating is causing the chipset to throttle speeds. If you stick a fan underneath the router and have it in an open area you'll have zero problems. You may even be able to get away with just elevating the back of it if the airflow in the room is sufficient, but I would recommend getting a fan to put underneath.

@mrboom That`s an actual issue (overheat) or it your personal experience with the router? Also, the overheat issue you speak affect the loading page or it`s a general impression of the bad behavior of the ax3000.

I don't personally use QoS, we've got enough bandwidth to go around, and I've taken no action regarding its heat output. Personally all I did to address this was factory reset and not set back up the Tether app and that took my average down from 650-700 to the expected 900-950mpbs. There was no special setup I had in place, my setup was nothing more than getting both SSIDs rolling. There are legs to this argument about the Tether app as outlandish as it sounds.

@CristMog

I own the router and if you pick it up and feel the underside it is very hot. The vents on the router are miniscule, there is not even a small fan to promote airflow on the inside, the plastic is essentially retaining the heat, and the chipset on ax routers by default are hotter than ac routers. The overheating issue affects the chipset which in turn will affect all aspects of performance, including loading the console page.

I think I figured out the issue.

I deleted the app and did a factory reset, still wasn't getting the 450 MBPS I was getting through LAN. The speeds were still at 140 MBPS, the same I had before resetting the router, I accidentally turned on the Smartconnect and the speeds were suddenly at 450 MBPS with WiFi.

I restored my back up file and enabled Smart Connect, I can avoid the annoying process to reconnect all the smart devices because 2.4 GHz connection was used for their setup.

My guess is the channels were causing the issue or the router caps the speed when multiple bands are used.
