Hello all,

Recently purchased a TP Link AX6000, have had zero issues with it so far but one interesting laptop/router interaction.

My laptop (listed in the title) has always worked with my routers at home (Apple Extreme/Lynksys Mesh) but with my new TP-Link, the only network available is a "Hidden Network".

This laptop also works with the router at work with no issues.  *This laptop is one that I purchased for work, sent to my place of work for them to install their programs.

The customer support at TP-Link seems to think it is my laptop, customer support for my laptop seems to think its the router not allowing the laptop onto the network.

I have messed with my drivers many times but to no avail.

Any help is appreciated!

Try to delete the network from your laptop and then reestablish it as that sometimes works especially if the network SSID was the same on a previous router. Onetime I had to re-install Windows 10 to get on of my laptops (HP) to work correctly.

It's the wireless card (Intel) playing with AX, that is why you saw no issues with the other networking devices that were non-AX.

To resolve it, drivers will take care of that. If you did update the drivers then you can try changing the router's Wi-Fi to b/g/ac only or get a USB network adapter that would work with AX networks.

Thanks for the reply. I have deleted the network and re-installed Windows to no avail.

Interesting. I have updated all my drivers so that wouldn’t be it, so I’m guessing that I will have to wait for an update so that my laptop can communicate.....or I’ll probably just switch it back to ac because i don’t have any devices yet that are compatible.

Ya, that is pretty much what I would do as well.

@Tony

Fixed. Ended up switching my 2.4 GHz channel to the 801 n/b/.....instead of the 801 mix that had "ax". Left my 5GHz channel alone so it could still use "ac".

Working quite well now. Thanks, Tony!

Tony, that was a great solution.  It is exactly what I did with my Dell Latitude E6540 with the Intel  AC 7260.  I don't think upgrading the card is a possibility so changing the mode to 802.11b/g/n mixed in 2.4G solved the problem with finding the broadcast from the Archer AX6000.
