Model: Archer C5400
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.2 Build 20170912 rel.56240(5553)

I have an archer c5400 v2. I am tempted to upgrad to an ax11000 (preferabbly from TP-LINK). However, it seems like unless I wire them together, there would be no way to use an ax11000 with TP-LINK's c5400 v2. From what I can tell, the c5400 v2 does not support wds, mesh, range extending, repeating, media bridge mode, or DD-wrt. Do I need to look at another vendor if I don't want to toss routers each time an upgrade comes out?

@slickshoes182

Like you mentioned, there is no WDS option. A wired connection will be needed in this case.

@Tony Is there a way to elevate this issue to the business team at TP-Link? Or is my best option to use another router brand?

The Archer C5400 V2 simply does not have a wireless bridge mode.

You can try to do a workaround such as using a wired only powerline device (TL-PA7010KIT) and have the C5400 in AP mode.
