Archer C7 AC1750 - slow speed wired ethernet. Gigabit service. Can anybody help before I return it?
I just purchased the C7 today. A speed test shows about 550 mbps when im hooked up through the ethernet port to my computer. If I remove the router and plug my PC directly to the cable modem I get the 980 mbps that I should. the firmware version says 5.8 on the data tag.
Can anybody help?

Try enabling NAT boost. This will push the router to peak performance and improve the throughput speed. You will also want to make sure your firmware is up to date. Frimware version is based on the "build" Date. If you still have slow speeds after trying these two items we would need to do more in depth troubleshooting.

Noticed surfing seems to be a bit slow. I have spectrum 100mps. Download speed test is around 30-30 meg no other devices in use, wired connection.
When I go straight to the modem with same cable I get 95meg. I tried resetting modem and router. Firmware updated, disabled NAT, disabled SPI.

@hinterland well whatever happened seems to be cleared now. I worked with spectrum this morning and though it was still doing it afterwards. It has cleared now

I found the NAT Boost setting was my main issue with the slow wired connection thanks to Carl's help (disabled it). But I did have to ensure I had CAT 6 cables for the highest possible speed as well.

@Carl I have same issue. I tried with NATS on and Off. When the service provider person cane on his device with CAT 5 wired he got 550 MBPS. Through Archer A7 he got 120 MBPS and through archer wireless is only 220 MBPS. Urgent help appreciated.

Check the QoS settings. If enabled - see current down and up limits. ;)
