Hey there, I have a fresh C2300 that I'm using Centurylink Gigabit internet with. When freshly booted, I get speeds of 950 down and 950 down, all day long. However about 24-48 hours later it will drop to 350/350 without any warning whatsoever. Here's my config:

Ethernet from wall -
PPPoe
MTU 1492
Detect Online interval 10
All other lan settings auto

IPTV:
IGMP proxy enabled
IGMP version 2
Internet VLAN 201, 802.1q tag enabled.

What do I do?

Exactly my problem

I have a C4000 and I'm experiencing the same behavior. I have 1 Gbps from my ISP. I get 900 - 950 Mbps consistently. After a few hours, however, it goes down to 400 - 450 Mbps. Only a reboot fixes this.

I'm having the same issue with NET Virtua 240/20, which simply drops to 120mbps after some hours. Come one TP-Link, fix this ASAP and let us configure manually QoS preferences.

I forgot to mention that I'm using latest firmware, clean install after upgrade (2.0.3 Build 20180611 Rel. 77668).

@winternacht  Do you still have this issue?

I have the same behaviour with my C2300 and I have it installed behind the Home Gateway from my ISP.

Although the C2300 memory usage shows around 50% and idle CPU usage below 5% only a power off /power on cycle will restore the speed to near gigabit download.

My ISP offers only 40 Mbps upload speed, so I never notice any speed reduction there.

Some info on the config:

The internet side is configured with static IP address and standard MTU of 1500 and with standard MAC address of the router.

The UPNP settings make no difference on or off.

The QOS settings are at default value and I have set no device priority

I have only 6 IP address reservations in DHCPNo Printserver or USB sharing functionality activated.

No IPTV configured

No port aggregation (no trunking)

No WiFi active (with button on router)

No static routing added

No virtual servers defined

No port triggering

No DMZ

No parental control

Antivurus and firewall setting are on (default)

No MAC address restrictions, Access control is off

IPv6 is disabled

No VPN configured

Time synchronized with pool.ntp.org

The router is at latest firmware "2.0.3 Build 20180810 Rel. 62903" for HW version "Archer C2300 v1.0"

In essence this router should have almost all of its capacity dedicated to pure routing my home network over NAT to the ISP.

C2300 Router drops internet speed to 100 Megabits then goes back to gigabit on reboot
2021-04-30 12:36:06

@winternacht

I have the same problem, my C2300 can run at 550 Megabits download 100mbs upload on reboot for about 2-3 minutes then goes down to 110 megabits download and 40 mbs upload afterwards. Any suggestions?

The modem/router that came with digital home runs at full speed 550 Megabits i'm getting to the point of binning the C2300, but it should work.

ISP - Digital home

I have the C2300

Hardware version V1

latest firmware.
