Has anyone been successful in configuring a Pi-hole with the Deco M5? I set up my Pi-hole & verified it worked with a single computer. Then, I modified the M5's DHCP settings to point the DNS server to the Pi-hole and the M5 wouldn't boot properly after that.
Since the M5 has no web page and only the app, this was quite a frustrating process because it wouldn't allow me to see the M5 from the app and with no web page, the only option I had was to factory reset the M5 (Actually all 3 of them). I tried it again after double checking all settings to see if I did something wrong the first time but ended up with the same results and another factory reset.
My guess is that the Deco needs to "phone home" before it finishes fully booting and you get stuck since the Pi-hole can't get out to retrieve "home" since the Deco isn't booted.
Seems like some flaw when we should be able to set the WAN DNS separately from the LAN DNS & we should also be able to somehow change the settings in the M5 when something like this happens rather than having to factory reset.

@Poat I know this is an old thread, but I was having a similar issue: Pi-hole was running, but nothing was being blocked. While navigating through the menus of the Deco app, under Advanced, there's a line that says DHCP Server. If you go there, there's a second place (other than under IPv4) to enter your DNS server address. Once I cleared that line, my Pi-hole sprung to life!

@freema22 Thanks for updating this thread which makes it easier to follow. Can I ask if your pie is on LAN or WiFi?
I have done the settings at two places you have mentioned but fails to connect after save. The whole Deco goes down . I have the below set up and think probably the pi and Deco going into loops.
ISP modem (router turned off)-> Deco M5(main)-> Unmanaged Network switch -> Pi-hole
Any thoughts?

Normally, the Pi-Hole should be set up as the LAN DNS, such as:

But it seemed like you had some problems after setting up Pi-hole as LAN DNS and the whole Deco went down.
Could you please help me check more details what happened after setting up, like:
Would the main Deco turn red?
--if yes, would there still be an IP address under Deco APP>More>Advanced>IPV4?
Have you set up any DHCP server function on the Pi-Hole?
