Archer 8 and DD-WRT and a VPN

I've gone to my VPN providers site. They said if my router is compatible with DD-WRT then I could install a VPN. TP-Link say's my router supports VPN pass through and is complatible. My firmware is up to date.
But I still don't have a clue how to put DD-WRT on my router and use my VPN with it. Please help.
