Hardware is TL-WR802N(US) Ver. 4.0
s/n: 2178038000645
f/w is factory installed.

iPhone is 6S running iOS 11.2

iPhone 6S works as a wifi hotspot with 4 other devices with no problem. So the iPhone is not the problem.

The TL-WR802N Nano router will connect with an LG Escape 2 Android phone but not with the iPhone 6S.

On your TL-WR802N download page, there are no f/w updates available.

I've now tried about 50 times with all different configurations after reset, to configure the setup to connect to iPhone 6S with no success. I've tried Hotspot mode and Client mode. Quick setups and manual setups.

TL-WR802N V2 is known to work with iPhone 6 series. What did you change in V4????????

This is definitely a compatibility issue with the firmware in the Nano router and there are 10's of millions of iPhone 6 series phones in service.

How soon can we have this fixed with a f/w update?

Anyone have a workaround for this problem???????????

Frustrated to no end.

I bought a Gli.net MT300N V2 Mango nano router and had it connected to my iPhone 6S in less than 5 mins. Proving that the TP Link TL-WR802N firmware is defective.

I had the same problem Dave. Very frustrating. Works fine when you're connecting to a conventional wireless network but I bought this device with the same idea in mind. I spent an hour trying to figure it out, then found your post here. So, how did you determine that the Gl.Inet Mango would work?

I mentioned the issue on a DMR TG QSO I had a while back and the other station mentioned the Glinet Mango and knew the issue I was talking about with the iPhone and the tplink router. Bought the Mango and never looked back. It works as intended. If you have an iPhone, avoid this tplink WR802N router, it does not work.

Thanks DaveB! You saved me a lot of time. I messed with this for a while. Got it to connect to other wi-fi networks but not my iPhone 5S hotspot. Returning and getting the GL.iNet GL-MT300N instead. Thank you.

When I connected with hotspot I can't access redbox tv this web and show me a network error. Please, someone, help me to open this web.

same problem occured for me. When i connect to hotspot, and want to open a site cyberflix , but its not opening  , its showing network error. Can any one resolve my issue .

i have tried to put the new Firmware in but it is not accepting it, i have the below already in?

the error code I get is 4503
