router not resolving local hostname
router not resolving local hostname
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
When I try to resolve a local hostname ("raspberrypi"), the router does not point to the IP of the local device with the hostname "raspberrypi".
How do I make this work?
My Deco M5 is set up to obtain DNS automatically.

I vote for this feature as well!
I bought the deco x60 without asking myself that this function could not be available.
It is a basic function for these devices, I am really disappointed

I ended up switching Deco into an Access Point mode and use it in combination with an external non-wifi router.
Despite TP-Link marketing efforts, Deco isn't a good choice as a main router IMO, especially for those people who know meaning of the words like DNS or DHCP.
Don't get me wrong, I like my Deco and I admit it has a pretty good WiFi unit, but as a router it's... eeh... - too simple and too "plug-n-play" to be taken seriously.
No hostname resolving, no SSH, no way to customize firewall etc etc.

try name.local. It works with devices that support mDNS. E.g. Linux devices needs avahi daemon.

I would also like to add my support to having this basic functionality available on Deco routers.
