Can't disable WPS on 5ghz Band (again)

Region : US
Model : TL-WR902AC
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 3.16.9 Build 20160905 Rel.61455n
ISP : N/A
There appears to be an exact duplicate of the issue already resolved here ( http://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.php?75146-Can-t-disable-WPS-on-5ghz-Band) for the Archer C7 routers.
Exactly as in that thread, I can disable WPS just fine for 2.4 GHz, but despite the UI showing it disabled for 5 GHz as well, Wifi Analyzer shows [WPA2-PSK-CCMP][WPS][ESS] and my laptop prompts for WPS pin.
I'm guessing this is probably the exact same root cause that caused this for the Archer C7.
WPS is a significant security issue, help here would be greatly appreciated!

While I agree that it seems unbelievable that there could not have been a firmware update for this router in over a year, especially when I found several significant issues in my first day of using it, there have not been.
There do seem to be some updates if you're in other regions, but in the US:
http://www.tp-link.com/us/download/TL-WR902AC.html#Firmware
TL-WR902AC(US)_V1_160905 is the most recent firmware.

Sorry I'm new to these forums, is it expected that a TP-Link employee/representative will acknowledge your issue at some point?
I'm already not happy about the KRACK response, and now this. If this isn't going to get fixed soon I can just send this router back and stop bugging people, although i must say i am surprised others haven't complained about this before.

I have the same issue before, tp-link sent me a beta firmware.
Here is a beta firmware to fix the issue: http://support.tp-link.com/f/37d7f5ccc9/
For the KRACK Vulnerability issue, you can refer to the below FAQ.

Enson, based on the file name, it looks like that is an EU firmware, not US. Is that correct?
Regardless, tp-link needs to release an official and supported firmware for this. One-off firmware builds sent around a forum are not a reliable, supportable strategy.
On the KRACK topic, according to that FAQ this device IS affected and still no patch.

My bad, didn't notice your location. You can contact
support.usa@tp-link.com and ask TP-Link support for a firmware for us.
If your TL-WR902AC is not on repeater mode, then it is not affected.

Thanks, I will contact them.
In terms of KRACK, as a travel router, I would imagine most people run these in WISP mode (I know I do), which means they are affected.

Indeed, when you contact TP-Link support, ask them when they will release a solution.

I found that I had to enable SSID broadcast again, then I could turn off WPS, then disable SSID broadcast.
