Archer C1200 v2 management interface and Wifi dies after a little while.

I've seen this issue reported by a couple of people already and some say upgrading firmware solves it.
The issue is that after a while the route still works, you can ping the web interface but don't even load loading page. Also the Wifi is visible but doesn't give any network access.
Rebooting the router solves the issue for a little while.
It seems like v2 of the C1200 is the only version that did not get a 2017 update, it is still on 2016-11-30.
Any chance to get a firmware update to fix this issue? it's plaguing my network and it is really annoying.

Hi All,
Following initial research and investigation, our Engineering Team is confident that they've determined one of the key origins of the issue. From what we have gathered so far, the issue appears to be related to some recent releases of Android OS and Google Apps. This issue stems from these devices' "Cast" feature, which sends MDNS multicast discovery packets in order to keep a live connection with Google products such as Google Home. These packets normally sent in a 20-second interval. However, we have discovered that the devices will sometimes broadcast a large amount of these packets at a very high speed in a short amount of time. This occurs when the device is awakened from the "sleep mode", and could exceed more than 100,000 packets in a short amount of time. The longer your device is in "sleep", the larger this packet burst will be. This issue may eventually cause some of router’s primary features to shut down – including wireless connectivity.

It is supported only for v1 hardware not v2 and v3.

Be careful!
The Archer C5 (AC1200) is not the same as the Archer C1200!
The Archer C5 (v1) has a Qualcomm QCA9558 processor whereas the Archer C1200 has a Broadcom BCM47189B0.

Hello
Although I know that it is not a definitive solution, as a provisional measure to improve the stability of the router, I have tried to configure the 2G and 5G networks with WPA and TKIP (instead of WPA2 and AES) but the performance is very bad.
With WPA2 + AES the performance exceeds 170 Mbps
With WPA + TKIP the performance barely exceeds 20 Mbps
Probably because it has no HW acceleration for WPA + TKIP
Therefore this option is not a valid solution as provisional measure.
Regards.

I've been working closely with tp-link engineers and the 8th beta of firmware they provided to me last night seems to have resolved these issues.I'm sure a production release will be available soon after they finish QA.
Excellente, I hope this helps!

Glad to hear progress is being made. Did you initially contact them through the support.forum@tp-link.com or through the aforementioned Calvin? I would be interested in helping test any future betas.

can you ask if a similar solution is available for the D7 ? we have similar problems and multiple threads opened on this.

Well AC1200 is Archer C1200... now depending of the hardware version V1 vs V2 and V3 they have different processor.
Like you were saying the v2 and v3 have a Broadcom and is not supported by dd-wrt but the v1 has a Qualcomm and is supported.
Hope it make sense.

Is it still stable? Can you share the beta firmware with us and tell us for what hardware version it is?
Thanks.

From what I recall reading, I think the C1200 v1 was a simple rebranding of the C5 AC1200 v1.2 (don't quote me on that), which itself was either identical or similar to the C7.r2hubert wrote
