Archer c8 Parental Control not working on 2.4GHz only 5GHz

Archer c8 Parental Control not working on 2.4GHz only 5GHz

I just noticed that devices that are restricted using Parental Controls are only blocked if they're connected to the 5GHz band. If the restricted devices are on the 2.4GHz band, they can still access the Internet. Restarting the router didn't resolve the problem. My last resort is to reset the router to factory conditions and set it up again but I would like to know if anyone else has this problem and if they found a way to fix it.
Also, this is for tp-link, is this router ever going to get another firmware update? :(
