Procedure for replacing Omada Gateway
I currently have an ER605 as my gateway for my Omada network. I have recently upgraded to higher than 1GB WAN, so am planning to purchase an ER8411 to replace the ER605.
Did a quick scan of the forums here but didn't find many examples of users replacing gateways in an existing system, and wanted to see if there was any suggested procedure for this.
From rough reading, I feel like the approach would be:
- Setup the ER8411 standalone, get its subnet IP range and other settings close to your current Omada network settings.
- Remove the ER605 and replace it with the ER8411 between your modem and the rest of your network.
- Forget the ER605
- Adopt the ER8411
Anything I'm missing here? Any thoughts or warnings from other users who have gone through this?
