Conecting OC200 and EAP225-Outdoor to existing NON-TP-Link wifi?
Hello all,
This is my first experience with TP-Link.
I already have a wireless network setup based on a Linksys router and Unifi APs and all works well. I decided to add an Omada Controller OC200 and two access point EAP225-Outdoor devices. All is connected: OC200 connected to a switch, a first EAP225 conected to the network via cable, and the second EAP225 powered on and connected to the first EAP225 via wifi. On the Omada Controller AP status both EAP are show connected. I know that the second EAP225 is connected to the network because when I plugin a laptop by cable to the ethernet port I have access to Internet.
Here is my issue: In Omada Controller config I must specify an SSID. If I put the SAME SSID and credentials as the existing wifi network (call it Wifi1) I know for a fact that devices like my phone or laptop trying to connect to the network wirelessly only manage to connect via the existing Unifi APs even though the signal is very weak compared to the one from the EAP225. If I put a different new SSID (call it Wifi2) in Omada Controller config, hence having two different wireless networks now Wifi1 and Wifi2, then wireless devices can connect to the network via an EAP225 and Wifi2.
Here is my question: Does anyone know if it is possible at all to achieve this or can provide any guidance? I was hoping to simply extend my wireless network using the same SSID.
Thanks in advance.
