EAP 225 AP's stays disconnected
EAP 225 AP's stays disconnected
So I have bought 3x TP Link EAP-225 access points, which I would like to set-up through the Omada controller. I have previously tried it through the web interface alone, where it worked easily, but I would, again, like to use the controller due to more functionality. So if I do that I get to choose the AP, give a SSID, password and all that, but when it tries to connect (when I click the Ccnnected devices and adopt the found AP) its status says "Provisioning" for a few minutes, and then it ends up in the Disconnected pane. I have tried several times, giving access to some ports in my firewall (that I read should be done), and even disabled my firewall, but nothing have helped.
Does anyone have an idea about what I'm doing wrong here ?

Hi Lynild,
From your description I think the IP address of the EAP are not in the same subnet with the Controller host. You can try to ping the IP of the EAP in the Controller host, to check if it can ping successfully. And for your problem here are some suggestions you can try:
1. Reset the EAP. After you reset the EAP, the AP will be in factory status. You just connect the AP and the Controller host to the router or switch. Then they should get the IP address in the same subnet.
2. Upgrade the firmware to the latest version. We will release a new firmware sometimes and we will add some new features or fix some bugs in the firmware. For better use, so we recommend you to upgrade the firmware to the latest version. The same to the Controller.

Okay, so I actually fixed my problem.
I updated everything, but that didn't seem to help. What I then figured out was that I was connecting to the AP software through WiFi. Instead, I hooked my computer up via cable, did the same thing, and voila, everything worked dlike a charm.
So when setting up the APs, let the computer which have the AP controller be connected via ethernet.

so it is safe to connect the laptop/computer to wire/cable and configure the eap

I think so yes...
Obviously when then AP's are first broadcasting they have no password, so the idea is to be quick I think with the setup.

hhhmm,weird
1. reset eap225
2. connect eap225 POE via router
3. connect pc to ethernet via router
4. login as admin to tplink controller
5. adopt the eap225(status is now connected)
6. setup AP in wireless settings
7. Add Portal
When checking the AP it was disconnected status

I am having same problem. Suddenly the AP stopped working or turned to DISCONNECTED status. i don't know how it happened since i only refreshed the controller using only my pc.. I hope there's a way to have it connected without pressing the reset button ..

@lynx_arnele03, if an AP which has been successfully configured by the controller goes into »Disconnect« state, it does not stop working. It's just not connected to the controller for whatever reason, e.g. b/c you rebooted the PC or b/c the PC did go into energy saving mode.
If you want to manage and monitor EAPs with the controller 24/7, set up a Linux server with Omada Controller or get an OC200 hardware controller.
If you want to use Omada Controller on a PC, you could use it to configure the EAPs and then let the EAPs run with no Controller running. Alternatively, set up a Windows server for 24/7 use, but IMO this will be no reliable solution if you use standard desktop Windows instead of a Windows server version.
