Hello there,

I have a question,

I am setting up a network far a house with B&B/airbnb plans.

The wish is as follows.

A home network using a TP-link mesh system.

and 2 seperate network for the 2 appartments to rent.

It is crucial the 2 apartments can not access the main network, only have internet access.

I think using a switch with Vlan is the best option.

And use 3 different router setups for the 3 seperate networks.

What (tp-link) products do i need to realize this?

Setup (in my mind)

Modem >

.   |

TP-link VLAN switch

.    |                 |              |

Router 1 | Router 2 | Router 3

Thanks,

Jan-Willem van Soest.

U have the model TL-ER6020 with 2 WANs and 2 LAN + 1LAN/DMZ

I'm not familiarized with this model but it has VLAN + bandwith control + dual wan + vpn + dhcp server...

¿You need to use all of your items with the same brand? (SORRY to de admins.... hehehehe...!!!!) I like TPLink but for some needs I prefer to use Mikrotik, you can buy an hEX switch: 5x gigabit + Poe + RouterOS system. It just cost about 60U$S an very reliable cost/benefits. I've learned to config from zero, with no experience at all (at brand) in about a week.... and its a only one way trip!!!  I love it!!!

And for appartements and main network put TPlink APs / WifiRouter / DECO or whatever you want.

Cheers!

Hi Jan-Willem

If you use three routers connected to the switch, you will have 3 seperate networks. Because NAT feature, the LAN of three router cannot access each other. You don't need to set up VLAN, the 3 network is still seperate.

But if you don't want customer access the devices connected to the switch, you need the VLAN feature.

TP-Link easy smart, unmanaged pro, smart, managed serial switch all support VLAN.
