Model: VIGI C340-W
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.0.6 Build 250208 Rel.58712n

I have 1x C330, 2x C340 and 1x C340-W and they all do the same thing, this just started recently (have older recordings that show correct times).  I go to general settings > Time Zone, and it's on +02:00 Athens and Daylight Saving Time is off, but it still advances the time an hour as per Athens (using DST, even though my DST checkbox is off).

To fix it, I change the Time Zone on each camera to 02:00 Harare, Pretoria, and the cameras go to the correct time (DST tickbox still off - unchanged).  I logout and lock back in, and they're still on 02:00 Harare, Pretoria with the correct time.  In the next day or two, I notice they're back to Athens time zone and the time is an hour ahead, this has happened 3 times in the last week.  I've checked for Firmware Updates - all up to date.  My KGuard NVR has the correct time and I haven't changed its settings in ages (it doesn't have time zone settings).

Something is changing all cameras from Harare/Pretoria time zone to Athens without me doing anything or even opening the VIGI software.

After 1.5 hours of testing and "process of elimination", I found the problem!  It is, in fact, my KGuard NVR causing it, in combination with data the VIGI cameras fetch from it.  I was looking at date/time settings but didn't notice the separate "NTP" section in my NVR, which allows you to choose a time zone like +02:00 (without selecting WHICH +02:00 zone) and then enable/disable DST.  DST was disabled so the NVR was showing the correct time, but the VIGI cameras were obviously fetching "+02:00" as Athens from the NVR and ignoring DST being off.

I tried messing with settings including trying GMT 00:00 but the VIGIs were settings themselves to Cassablanca 00:00 which has DST, then set the NVR to -02:00 (Mid-Atlantic, which doesn't have DST), disabled NST on the NVR and set the correct time manually, and now everything is working fine showing the correct time!

This wasn't an issue last year during DST, so I'm guessing VIGI firmware updates changed the way they fetch time/zone from the NVR (or didn't previously fetch from my NVR).

Thank you for your help! :)

Is your IP address under the Athens?

If it is, then it should sync you to the proper city.

Do you have an NVR to manage these cameras? If its NTP is not on the right region?

If the NTP server has enabled DST, then you don't have to enable DST on the device. Commonly, the time you see in the list is synced with the server online.

Hi Clive Geolocation of my WAN IP is Johannesburg, South Africa. My NVR does not "manage" the cameras, it's an older KGuard NVR with analogue inputs that also supports ONVIF. I've had that much longer than these VIGI cameras, and this problem only started recently (to all 4 VIGI cameras of varying ages). My NVR allows me to set the time only (which is correct), it doesn't have time zone or DST settings. Apart from my NVR, I only have the VIGI app on my Android phone (which I'm using to try set time zones). When I posted this yesterday, I reset time zone to 02:00 Harare/Pretoria on just one camera as a test, I see now it's changed back to 02:00 Athens. What I've done now to test, is set one camera to UTC 00:00, which it reflected 13:45 on my NVR, then I rebooted that camera and it went back to 15:45 with the Athens time zone (time here meant to be 14:45). Regards RipSurge

We haven't reproduced this based on a reply from the team.

Need information:

Android version, system info of your cellphone. And VIGI App version.

What's your phone time zone and region?

You are managing them with the VIGI app. Never used anything like VMS or other stuff?
