Firmware Version: 5.15.20.40

Hello,

I've come across a slight issue where the firmware auto upgrade feature on the Omada Cloud Controller has stopped working and instead it reboots the devices when they shouldn't need to. For now, I have disabled this feature until there's a fix.

If you see the below screenshot, it shows the two devices that has a firmware update but you'll notice the other devices have rebooted under its schedule when they shouldn't need to as they haven't had an update when I checked previously.

Having checked the logs, I can see the devices were rebooted under the schedule which says 3 EAPs and 2 switches - but these weren't necessary and should be the ER7206 gateway and the SG2428P switch that will have rebooted.

Below is the scheduler for the auto upgrade, but the check time looks to be incorrect and should show the next check time.

Please could someone have a look into this and come up with a solution to fix the issue.

Many thanks,

Ben

Regards, Ben

I'm going through the exact same issue at the moment but across over 250 sites.

I noticed in your screenshot though that your devices rebooted at the time they were scheduled to update. Do you have a scheduled reboot in place? If so, I suggest doing it 30 minutes before the firmware updates happen.

Hi  @HBEN1603

I also had the same question, do you have a scheduled reboot in place?

@JordanW  What's the issue on  your side?  The devices detected a firmware update but didn't do as configured? Could you please share some more detials, such as the model number.

Hi  @Vincent-TP

I have checked and I don't have a reboot schedule in place.

I have done a separate upgrade schedule the other day using the 'One-Time Upgrade' feature which it did update the devices that needed updating but I had to manually schedule for it to happen.

Hi Vincent,

I deleted all of the old schedules that were setup in each site in v5.14 that didn't come across to v5.15 correctly (dates in the schedule were showing January and February for Check Time). I have since added groups of all sites but one has all EAP2xx, next has all EAP6xx/7xx, next has all ER devices and so on. They're seperated by 30 minutes to avoid any overlap and happen over 2 nights.

I'll find out next week if they work properly but so far, i haven't found a reliable way to update all devices. If there was a way to select all sites, all devices and have Omada update them all, that would be great. Over 280 sites and 590 odd devices is not easy to update 1 site at a time or create groups to then have to mess with the schedules whenever a new site is created.
