ER605 issue

Hello all
I attempted to plug my ISP’s (Randolph communications) ONT device into my ER605 v2. It did not pass the connection through to my switch and OC200.
I called and they said the MAC address needed to be updated from the ISP provided router. Cool, did that. Still didn’t work.
I ended up reusing my ISPs router and plugging my Poe switch right into my ISP router. Plugged the OC200 and everything worked.
So my question is—-if my ISP router works, can I convert it to bridge mode and use my ER605? Or attempted to remove my ISP router from the picture?

Hi @Joeyhall7
Thanks for posting in our business forum.
You can try this guide: IPv4 WAN Does Not Connect to Internet Troubleshooting Guide
You can convert it to bridge mode which is what we recommend. Bridge mode should avoid the double-NAT situation where you may have a better network experience.

I'm not sure that bridge mode does anything for you (even if it is possible?) with an FTTP connection. The interface from the ONT is already ethernet , so 'bridging' is just acting as a network switch. I dont think it would even help with the MAC address clone, the MAC of the ER605 would still be supplied with any DHCP/PPPoE connection. You seem to have elimated that as a problem by cloning the MAC anyway ?
