Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.16.3 Build 20240620 Rel.81038

Occasionally I receive a large batch of Device Connected events in the log. This time I experienced what happened. I was in the web interface on one of pages, I think Clients. The page tried to auto-refresh, but the dots where just spinning. I closed the browser and reopened and tried to access it, but the web interface was not responding. I tried two other browsers with the same result. Meanwhile the whole time I was able to ping the controller.

After about 5 minutes of the interface not responding, it finally came back and I was able to access the web interface. My continuous pings never stopped. After checking the Logs it showed 15 "Device Connected" and some "Device Disconnected" events in the span of 19 seconds after it came back.

Has anyone else experienced mass Disconnected and Connected events after a controller lockup?

EDIT: Ok, after a manual check for updates, looks like there's a new controller version 5.15.8.12. Maybe I'll up update that later to see if things get better.

I've attached a small portion of the MONGOD.LOG. You can see at the 41 minute mark when the interface came back online.

Im getting this Omada wheel of death over and over, today especially in reports section, this shoud be fixed. Loks like it crashes and starring provisioning all devices afterwards. Luckily clients seems to be ok.

@shuravko I've just upgraded my OC200 v2 to firmware 2.19.2 Build 20250110 Rel.75724 just a few days ago. I like the new UI layout, but it'll take a while to get used to where things are now.

I have to give my upgrade some time to see if it's stable, since I was getting lockups about every week or so. But ya, luckily clients still function okay, but it's concerning when you have over 100 clients and 12 APs on your network. I suppose it'd be as if you just unplug your controller right now, everything still works but you probably won't be able to roam seamlessly from AP to AP. It is annoying to receive a text in the middle of the night with all your devices being removed then connected again.

I'll post another log if this happenes again. Hopefully there's at least one support member watching this thread.

Hi  @MrTom

It could be that there are many features configured and at the same time, there were many events generated, insufficient controller cache, etc.

It is recommended to turn off this switch below and optimize the configuration by removing some unnecessary configurations.

If the issue occurs again, you may contact TP-Link technical support to get a faster help.

@Vincent-TP That's a strange response. You say there were many events generated, insufficient controller cache. But, those events were generated after the controller resumed from being locked up. Disabling the "Device Connected" will only stop notifying me when there's a problem and my devices were disconnected. I'll still get notifications of "Device Disconnected" after the controller locks up. Also, all the features configured at the same time are pretty much all the default "Event Notifications Settings".

I'm well aware of many options to hide the notifications of the problem, but the problem still may be there, and the controller may still be locking up, I just wouldn't be notified of it.

If the issue occurs again, I will definitely contact support to create a bug ticket.

@MrTom I've upgraded to OC300 - that's night and day difference, I have 5 switches, over 100 users and 10 APs. Way too many for OC200. It's underpowered and really usable for very small home/office setups. Look like it's crashes and freezes due to lack of memory.
