Firmware Version: Firmware Version: 3.0.5

Hi everyone,

I’m setting up VLANs on my TP-Link TL-SG2008 switch (Model: T1500G-8T, Hardware Version: 1.0, Firmware Version: 3.0.5) to separate traffic between departments. I’ve assigned VLAN 10 (Sales) and VLAN 20 (IT), with port 8 as the trunk. However, devices from different VLANs are still communicating, which I thought VLANs should prevent.

This issue reminds me of the symbolic importance of boundaries—meant to provide clarity and order. Yet, when they fail, it leads to confusion and overlap, much like my current network setup.

Could someone help me identify what I might be missing?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Spiritualgleam

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

There are a lot of guides on the forum. Have you tried any?

There is a clear difference between 802.1Q VLAN and VLAN interface. You seem to be using (on) the second one.
