Hey folks,

I am planning my home Wifi Network to WiFi7 APs, ended up ordering one EAP773 for Testing. Speed and coverage look promising so far. Didn't do any "intense" load testing yet, since I don't have too many active clients, nor any WiFi 7 clients ... yet.

I see at least some users, also in the TP-Link Forums complain about heat and stability issues with EAP7xx APs.

Could some of you who have already deployed EAP7xx APs (especially 773 and/or 772) share their experiences? Are those APs stable for you? Do they run very hot under load or are the temps within specs and acceptable? It's winter time here right now, so ambient temps are definitely not an issue, but in the summer temps in the house could reach up to 25-26 Celsius inside the house.

I just want to avoid running into stability/heat issues before I order 3 or 4 more EAP7xx APs which I am gonna need to cover the house for my performance needs.

Thanks,

raptor

I'm really excited to hear about your experience with the EAP773 so far! It's great that the speed and coverage are looking promising. Even though you haven't done intense load testing yet, the initial positive signs are a good indication. Regarding the heat and stability concerns some users have mentioned, it's a very valid point to bring up. But don't let those isolated complaints discourage you too much. Many times, these issues could be due to specific set - up circumstances or a small batch of units. I'm sure there are plenty of users out there who have deployed EAP7xx APs, especially the 773 and 772, and have had nothing but smooth sailing. Once you get some more feedback from other users, you'll be in a much better position to decide on ordering more units. The fact that you're being so cautious and doing your research before making a larger investment is really smart. By the time summer rolls around, you'll have a solid understanding of how these APs perform under different conditions. And who knows, with the right ventilation and set - up, the heat might not even be an issue at all. Looking forward to hearing more about your findings and the experiences of other users in the meantime!

Wish you a happy life and smooth network usage!
