Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version:

Hello everyone, I need you to clarify a question for me please, I am doing a deployment and I find this option (Site Map) that I don't know what sense or not it has based on the hardware I have.

  • ER605 V2
  • SG2210P v5.20
  • EAP653
  • EAP650 All managed by Omada Software Controller (Linux) - 5.14.32.3 (Stable).

Can someone tell me what it helps me or not, because if it is only the location of the devices, I don't want to put the credit card on the Mapbox site, just to be able to see a map of the world and my devices (which I know where they are perfectly). From what I read on a higher router (that has ips/ids) it does manage to show the information of the possible attack on the map (does it make sense in that case to enable it at my discretion). Can you help me with my configuration? Something I'm not realizing, or it's just the location of my devices.

Thank you very much in advance!!!

Hi  @Juan_Manuel

It is mainly for showing the physical location of the device on a map.

This feature is typically used more frequently by installers who oversee several site devices concurrently.

As you mentioned, you already know all your SDN devices' locations, so you don't need this feature.
