Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

I've had enough of this.

In 1 year since I bought the Omada system, all I’ve had are issues. I’ve spent more time fixing things, changing firmwares, and performing hard resets multiple times than actually using it.

Now I have another sh*#$%show. Every 10-15 days, my internet slows to an absolute crawl, despite 1ms ping and 980mbbs download& upload. Pages take ages to load, if they load at all. The only way to fix it? Restart the damn router. Fine, I can deal with that, but wait—it gets worse.

When I restart the router, the WAN connection doesn’t come back online right away. I’m sitting there waiting 10 freaking minutes just for it to maybe connect with the PPPoE credentials. And guess what? It’s a coin toss whether it works on the first attempt. Usually, I have to restart it 2-3 times before the connection finally establishes.

Meanwhile, all my websites and services are offline.

My entire setup is paralyzed because OMADA IS ABSOLUTE SHI*. What’s the point of having this fancy controller setup if the most basic functionality—maintaining a stable connection and reconnecting quickly after a restart—is completely broken?

Seriously, what the hell is going on with this device? Why does the internet grind to a halt every couple of weeks? Why does it take so long to reconnect after a restart? And why doesn’t it connect properly the first time?

Fix your garbage system, or at least provide a real explanation for why this happens. This is unacceptable for something marketed as "business-grade."

PS: I had to create another account since the main one don't work. This is another issue with your stupid cloud and login pages everywhere. Jesus, how many time i was locked out from OMADA......

1h since I restarted both devices, and one stuck on adopted.

Why do you have another ip than router, do you have multiple dhcp servers in network or do you have a lage network

@MR.S No, it just needs a full nigh or day to be adopted after restart.

The switch has the wrong IP, so no wonder there are problems. you need to check why switch has 192.168.0.98. The switch does not get this IP address by itself. Fallback IP Address is default 192.168.0.1

@MR.S The issue is with software controller, not the switch. The internet or DHCP server is working just fine with or without the correct IP address. That IP or error appears anytime when i restart both devices, because the router needs 10 minutes to start and the switch only 1 or 2.  But is working fine and before that it was on the same LAN, so it is now.

This is a very well-known problem on reddit and on the forums, I'm not the only one who has it.

Also, I'm not the only one who has this issue with slow internet after some time.

ok, how is the software controller? is it connected by cable and has a fixed ip or does it have wifi and a dynamic ip. I still don't understand where the switch gets 192.168.0.98 from. I myself have several ER605 routers and have not experienced similar problems. that is, there were a lot of problems in the past but it has been corrected over time.

@MR.S Please check the attachment. The IP is fixed. Maybe because the switch needs to be restarted after the router is online first, since the DHCP server is on the router?

as i said i have several ER605 and they start up very slowly but the switch and access punk get no ip at all until the router is online and then they connect to the controller straight away. I think it's a misconfiguration in your network that's causing problems, I see you have quite a few servers, I don't know anything about them, but if it's one of them that has dhcp activated, strange things can happen,

@MR.S I understand. I have only one DHCP server and it's on router. Thanks for your help. I will not bet again on Omada so I'm looking already in another alternative like OPNsense. I'm done with all the drama that comes with the Omada system. Already within a year I have given dozens of resets, both to the devices and to the software controller. Because suddenly one night something breaks down or stops working, without being touched. I don't know about others, some complain, others don't. But from what I read on the internet and reddit, there are 50/50 people who say positive things or negative..

For now i'm hopping that maybe at least somebody from support will ask for a log, or show any interest at least in finding a solution. In a year I have not had any kind of support on this forum or email.

if you tag @Clive_A  then maybe he can make a support case for you or have other suggestions.

yes, I agree with you that there have been a lot of problems with the routers, but they have become more stable in the last year. but all the networks I have with ER605 I have set up an automatic reboot once a month. I don't think it's necessary anymore but it doesn't hurt to reboot.

I hope you figure it out :-)
