hi, i have recently bought a tplink switch for my house to distribute internet around the house to points behind tv's. i was told by the company i bought the switch from i wouldn't need a hardware controller, but trying to set it up on the omada app isnt getting me anywhere. i keep getting the message "too many preconfigured devices in this account". Anyone have any other suggestions on how i can add the switch or will it be a case of buying the oc200.

We can't manage Omada switches directly via the Omada APP. But we can use the APP to manage Omada controllers. And Omada controller can manage Omada switches. So you can use an Omada controller to adopt the switch, and then use the APP to manage the switch. Under this situation, the Omada controller works like a bridge.

If you don't want to buy OC200, you can also install Omada software controller. But this will need the controller PC running all the time.

One more thing, the configuration options in the Omada APP are not as much as on the web interface.

what model of switch did you buy?  do you even need to configure it at all?
