VLANs on OC200 & SG2428P
Hi,
I need some assistance with setting up VLANs on a OC200 cloud controller and a SG2428P switch. All firmware is up to date.
I have a Cisco router. It is set up with 3 VLANs:
10 192.168.1.x Main Staff VLAN DHCP server is a Windows server on the VLAN
20 192.168.2.x Public VLAN DHCP server is the Router
30 192.168.3.x Classroom VLAN DHCP server is the Router
Both the Router port and SG2428P port 24 are set up as Trunk (tagged) ports. I have my port profiles set up and applied to the SG2428P as needed.
I would like to be able to manage the network from VLAN 10, our main VLAN.
The OC200 is plugged into a VLAN 10 port, which carries VLAN 1 untagged (all ports do) and VLAN 10 untagged as well. Client accessible ports are Untagged.
I gave the OC200 a static IP on VLAN 10 – 192.168.1.9 – so I can point a browser to it and change settings locally if I had to without searching around for its IP address.
The SG2428P is pulling an IP address from VLAN 10’s DHCP server.
So far so good……….
I would like to give the SG2428P a static IP of 192.168.1.10, but that seems to be problematic.
Actually, ever since I gave the OC200 a static IP, the whole setup is not functioning once I power cycle it. Everything is fine until I turn it off and turn it on again.
The SG2429P comes up in the OC200 with status “Disconnected”, and nothing I do short of resetting the switch and adopting it again and redoing the programming gets it to work.
Until the next power cycle.
Tech support doesn’t have an answer for me.
Anyone know what the problem is?
Thanks in advance.
