Port forwarding issue
Port forwarding issue
I am trying to replace an archer a7 with this er605 and am having an issue forwarding all the port on the network. I have spent hours searching these forums and google and nothing I do is working. I have gone to transmission>Nat> virtual server and filled out the standard required information like I have done many times in the last decade. I cannot detect any open ports. The previous router port forwarding was working so I am confident the pc firewalls are ok. I read also that the router ACL needed to be set to allow the virtual server through. I think that I have set this correctly, but this is a new step in my experiance in setting up PF. What am I doing wrong or is this just the router having issues?

The issue was a filtering device called Bark. Once I turned it off forwarding acted like it should. Thanks for your insites.

If you forward ALL the ports, it won't forward specific ones. I would use the DMZ feature as a catchall to forward unspecified ports, and then specific port forwarding rules for each dedicated service port to the other server IPs

Not sure of the point you are making. I have only forwarded at this point 3 ports. I added the ACL from advice rendered. Are you saying that I am forwarding all ports via the ACL?

I was confused by the rule you show in post #1. That is default behaviour so why create a rule and possible problems. Your second forwarding rule should work, assuming the 192.168.x.x address is completed and points to an active server with those ports active. If it doesn't work, you need to inspect your WAN interface and verify that it is in fact a public non-NAT'd IP address. Visit a site like formyip dot com, and validate that the IP presented matches the one assigned to the ER605's WAN interface.

I deleted the ACL entry and activated the NATDMZ pointing toward the server. No change.

what would be strange is that the previous router was port forwarding.
