Accepted DS-Lite (Dual Stak Lite) Support
Accepted DS-Lite (Dual Stak Lite) Support
Hello,
Most of the internet providers in Germany are only using a public ipv6 addrees and are tunneling all the ipv4 traffic through a provider gateway (AFTR). (Carrier NAT IPv4.)
In the TP-Link router ER707-M2 I have found no option to configure such a DS-Lite (Dual Stack Lite) connection.
I have found other threds in the community here which have exactly the same issue with other business routers
https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/537980
https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/547340
I was a little bit surprised that this feature is only available in TP-Link consumer routers but not in the business routers.
For a consumer router I have found the following FAQ
https://www.tp-link.com/no/support/faq/2483/
This feature request was created based on that thread
https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/621734
Please implement that feature also for the business routers.

I get the priority thing, and I can't express the appreciation for you and your team for at least giving updates on what's happening. Thank you guys again!
Sadly, our clients usually can't take no for an answer, so we have to stop-drop&roll whenever a new "idea" hits them (even if we discard it after the meeting), sorry if I was a bit harsh.
(Always trying to find a solution makes a "old man yells at clouds" out of me.)
Thanks, again, and I'll be waiting for updates, in the meantime I'll be doing some "workarounds" so hopefully I won't have to reconfigure the whole network again when the update finally gets published.
Edit: Got the network working via a unix based VM as a "router" roughly implementing dual-stack so the ER706W only sits as a "switch" after the media-converter at the moment. Would still need a native fix as the ping has gone up as if i was using double-nat ( which I actually kind of am lol, at least the full-sized picture looks great xD ).

Totally get it. No worries. Our products are gradually pushing forward and becoming better. You can expect a brighter future for our products. I feel much better that we have some common ground and you can understand that.
Hope you have a great day. Cheers.

@Clive_A : Any news on this?
I'm looking for a router / WIFI setup with which I can put e.g. the IoT devices we have in a separate VLAN, and your Omada routers, especially the ER7412-M2, would be a device that fits our needs, apart from the DS-Lite option that is still missing.
Thanks & kind regards!

As it has been marked as accepted and listed with the scheduled version.
What news do you expect to learn?

Well, an ETA, for example. It would help me to decide which router and WIFI AP combo I will buy. No DS-Lite --> no purchase. I already have two TP-Link routers in use, so I would like to expand that with a TPL router and matching APs, but without DS-Lite support, this setup will not work for me.

This quarter will begin the V5.15.X iteration.
You might keep an eye on the beta release on the Omada Controller page and the following router beta firmware update will follow up.
