Model: TL-SX3008F
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I bought a new TP-Link network for my lab, I have a number of 1gb 10baset SFP modules which refused to work until I manually set the speed to 1000/full duplex. When trying to set to auto, the UI complains about illegal settings. This happens in both standalone mode and via the omada controller.

Yeah that was a challenge in my environment as well, once I've set the ports to 1000 I could get a connection and add them to my controller, but then they revert back to 10g and lose contact with the controller + console port goes into 'read only' mode, which means there is no connection between the controller and the switch, and there is no way to force the port back to 1g, fun times.

took a few tries but I've managed to apply 1g port config during the adoption stage, before switches were reset.

definitely an annoying bug.

@NinjaMonkey I know it's a total oversight. I had the controller running on my workstations connected via 10g so I set everything up then migrated over to a VM. I saw a note suggesting this had been fixed but I think it only negotiates fiber links

@crembz I'm not sure about the fixed part, normally I only use Cisco GLC-SX-MM with those switches, but even FS SFP-10G-LR & SFP-10G-SR (Cisco compatible models) have failed to auto-negotiate the speed on TL-SX3008F.

with manual speed everything works great, but it seems that 'auto' works with models or brands different than what I have.
