Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version:

I had a server crash, and lost my Omada Linux Software controller.

No backups.  Sigh

- So far, the network seems to be just fine.  I assume that it will carry on under the current config.

- SO, here is the question

1. I have build a new Lunix VM for the controller.

2. If I install the software (Omada Controller, latest), will I have to reset all of my devices?

3. Or will it read the config from the devices into it?

The new controller will see the devices as "Managed by other", namely its aware of them but wont take control of them

You will need to reset them sadly to break the link to the old controller

I think if you knew the device management account at least, you wouldn't have to reset everything to factory.

I learned this lesson a long time ago, with a small config.  Now, any time I change controllers or update firmware on a controller, I take a backup immediately.

Personally I think TPLink should enforce this behaviour, after any initial setup, or any firmware upgrade, or site migration...a backup file needs to be downloaded somewhere to continue.
