Setting up a new TL-SG108E switch and when I tried to put in a new password it would not accept the character @.

 

However, TL-SG1016PE and TL-WA3001 both accept character @, no problem.

 

Why does TL-SG108E not accept special character?

Yeah, it makes no sense. I bought an ER605 and TL-SG108E, and the ER605 can use special characters, but not the TL-SG108E.
