Model: EAP225
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.1.1

There are several AP EAP225 V3, V4, V5 and OC200 2.0 (FW2.7.7). Totally 11APs.

Sometimes Windows Notebooks are connected to AP but no data is transmitted. After a while (1-5Min.) or switching WIFI off and on everything works well. In the moment the connection doesn't work ping shows different result: 8.8.8.8 answers, google.de doesn't answer, gateway answers, few seconds later also 8.8.8.8 doesn't answer.

This problem exists only on connections to V5 AP and not at all clients of one AP at the same time.

I didn't see this behavior on other installations before, but I think I have used V5 here the first time.

Any ideas?

Best Regards

Ralph

What are you using for routing and switching?

Also, have you checked the signal strength of the problematic clients within the controller?  Good Signal?

Do you have any advance wifi features enabled?  fast roaming?  Band steering?

  @KimcheeGUN

Thank You for fast reply

We use d-link DGS1210 switches and opensense for routing.

Signal strength and data rate is very good, while it works. AP and clients are in the same room. If it doesn't work, signal strength is still good, but data rate is 0b/s. I saw this at the client page of oc200.

There are no advanced features configured. I have changed now one EAP225 V5 (which had most problems) to an EAP225 V4 (latest fw) and it seems working.

  @gontronic

i don't really feel good about windows as I am running an unmanaged switch for my server pc and I am experiencing disconnection.

i know it's the windows system puts my disk/network sleep.

have you isolated this issue to the eap yet? take it alone and reproduce the scenario. if you run into the same issue again, you can @ the support members.

btw, eap has some kind of power saving mode as well. check the user guide, it's under the eap config.

  @Tedd404

In the moment I can say: I don't have any problem since I changed EAP 225 V5 to V4

So for me it's safe that V5 (with this FW) has a problem.

  @gontronic

Finally it works since FW 1.1.3 is installed.

The Problem was only on EAP225V5 and Windows Clients.

Many Thanks to tp-link fw development!
