Setting up my first cloud managed TPLink device today and wanted to link it in with Office365 email for alerting.

Could not get it working and came across this thread suggesting there's no way to get it directly working.

https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/271552

To avoid setting up another mailbox with Google for dealing with TPLink alerts, I've got an account set up through SMTP2GO as it's free to use if you're not sending out more than 1000 email a month. Seems to be working pretty well so far.

Anyway, just thought I'd throw it out there as an option if anyone else gets stuck with this.

  @tspec

I asked TP-Link multiple times to implement Oauth2 for authentication which is the the new way for authenticating for SMTP sending but it seems they are not willing to implement this for the time being.

You can use app passwords with Google and then send emails over port 465 with SSL. (smtp.googlemail.com or smtp.gmail.com)

It is also fully correct that SMTP sending over O365 does NOT work with TP-Link in the Omada software. They need to implement basic auth TLS/StartTLS fot basic auth or like I said Oauth2. SSL with O365 is not possible anymore.

My Setup:TL-ER-7206, OC200, 3x EAP245, 1x EAP225, 1x EAP225-Outdoor Wishlist: 1x TL-SG2218 and 2x TL-SG2008

  @tspec I am using Office365 as my smtp.

and its working.

the new problem is i am getting lots of email and some of them are repeating. Maybe since the week of the missing icon.

I use a app password for this if you are wondering.

  @Jeesoon1

Hi,

this is possible but NOT suggested and legacy.

we need Oauth2 and with the new standard from O365/M365 this is all legacy.
