I have been working with this 3 AP Outdoor Mesh for a few days now. Hardware includes OC200, 2x EAP225 Outdoor (wireless) and a EAP610 Outdoor (wired). The Mesh is just not working out and not showing any real benefit. I am going to add two more EAP225 for a total of four, each with a CPE710 providing a link back to the EAP610. They will all be standalone with separate SSID so guests can connect based of location. This provided superior connection and speed compared to the mesh.

So my question is since I am not going to be using Mesh, is the OC200 Hardware Controller really necessary? Roaming never worked and with each AP in standalone, shouldnt I be able to access and configure each one separately?

Thanks for the input. I will not be attempting to get roaming working and will not be using mesh, so it looks like it would only benefit me in being a means of central management. Once I get them setup, I would rarely be making changes. I did not have to worry about load balancing before mesh since the users just logged into the AP nearest them and they are distributed quit evenly.
