@Philbert I've followed the tp link setup exactly as per the video and it didn't work until plugged both of the 510s into the network and set 1 up as an AP on 192.168.0.254 and the other as a client on 192.168.0.253 and they recognised each other so far so good but when I've removed the client 510 from the network and fixed it to the barn it won't connect to anything, what am I doing wrong

My thinking is that the issue is likely the IP addressing, are you using the same range as your router for these?  Namely is your router on the 192.168.0.x range?   can you ping both sides of the CPE from your router / switch?   What IP address are you getting at the other side (barn) if you connect a device?   can you ping the router from there?

It does sound like a networking / ip routing issue if honest.

In terms of the DFS warnings, dont worry about those the CPE does a check for DFS on startup and will montor the airspace for a while.. safe to ignore these generally.

@Philbert 7 hours later I might have sorted it I've had to plug both 510s into the network and assign them 192.168.0.254 and 192.168.0.253 set them up without the quick setup so there ips don't get mixed up and it's working so all I need to do is align them properly and I think its there, as for my router I have an EE router which has a default Web setting page of 192.168.1.254

Hey

Hopefully you got this working ok?

Just reading your last report i would have went with setting the IP addresses for these on the same range as your router, namely set them for 192.168.1.253 and 252  something like that.   There is nothing stopping you using the 192.168.0.x range but would be easier if they where all the same.
