Hello everybody,

I'm trying to migrate an office WIFI to Omada and wanted to reuse the existing WPA password which is configured as a 64 character HEX password. I am unfortunately unable to use this existing password with my configuration since the "Security Key" field requires a key between "8 to 63 characters". The existing 64 character HEX password works fine foer all existing devices.

I've searched the documentation and haven't been able to find much on HEX passwords, except that it was permitted on older TP-Link devices. It doesn't seem anybody has come across this problem in my research.

Are there any special tricks needed to use a 64 character HEX password?

Many thanks,

Nick

  @NickFra

You know, you could always switch to WPA-Enterprise and setup a small RADIUS server to validate the 64hex key....  Just saying!  I'm sure you could find some docker container or other virtualized lightweight RADIUS server.

Good luck!

You'd need a feature request to enable HEX entry (256bit/64xhex).  Currently the 63char max is for 'printable' characters.

Thanks, Dougmac! I was hoping that this was a feature that was so well hidden i just didn't find it myself. Too bad. I appreciate the feedback!
