TL SG108E 1000mbs in, 100 out
Total non-techie here, guessing I'm missing something basic. I just bought one of these gigabit switches for our new home which is wired with Cat 6 cable. I have internet from Xfinity coming into our modem, then to our Google wi-fi, then output into this switch. The input on the switch from the modem lights green, which I believe means it is transmitting at 1000mbs? I then have the wired connections using the Cat 6 cable to various rooms plugged into this switch. All of these show the orange light, which I believe is output at 100 mbs. How can this be? If the signal is coming in at 1000mbs, shouldn't it be going out at that speed too?
I'm a bit hamstrung because none of our computers have an ethernet port to easily run speed tests but running a speed test on our of our wired tvs confirms a signal strength of just under 100mbs.
We've got Xfinity gigabit service thats supposed to be up to 1200 mbs but our Google wifi shows a normal download speed of 800-850.
What am I missing?
Thanks!
