@bst00 interesting question. Also want to know it.
I will install it outdoor on 2nd floor. It must give wifi to 1st and 3rd floor from outdoor through brick walls.

How about the range of it's signal? is it also wider compared to eap 225? how far can it reach for 2.4 and 5 Ghz, with obstruction and without obstruction.

@Spryde we won't know until the actually exist.

however , wifi6 advantages start to come out when you have multiple access points set up with a controller for seemless roaming . It is unlikely that you will get noticeable improvements with just a single access point.

also, they claim some gain in the internal antennas. That usually comes from having a narrower beam width . You will probably get let coverage above ant below it.

your best bet would be to put one on each floor, and of course you will need the OC200 controller

@btx  I checked those links. None of them were available for immediate shipment.

It looks like they are optimistically taking pre-orders for delivery at the end of the month. The seller has a horrible Amazon rating (67% Negative)  for not delivering or taking forever to deliver. I guess they like to advertise vaporware.

If you go to the Amazon TP-Link store, the eap610-outdoor still isn't mentioned.

FWIW, I am not sure if the USA model is the same as EU models due to different bands and such... so I will have to wait some more I guess for a USA version. Not that I need it but I'm sure the power adapter is wrong for the USA for starters.  Also, it is possible that the USA version has not completed FCC compliance testing yet so it may be delayed even more.

@sound_nthusiast looks like it won't be April for sure.

With WiFi 6-E starting to roll out here and there, I wonder if TP-Link has missed the boat entirely.

I had to give up waiting for them as of today. I have to upgrade a large outdoor facility that is currently using Omada and EAP225 AP's now that covid is declining , I was contracted to increase the WiFi capacity by upgrading to WiFi 6 AP's , the upgrade has to be finished before Memorial Day weekend... the unofficial start of summer in the USA . I really wanted to stick with TPLink because I could have simply swapped 50 units and do some very minor tweaking and be done with the project in three days, but after waiting for these imaginary units for 16 months , I was forced to move on to something that can actually be purchased

@Rickk10000 I too have a pressing deadline, may I ask what you chose?  I've used WAVLINK AC1200 in the past and pleased with the speed and range.  May just have to hang a dozen of these with no controller instead

If you go to Amazon today , you will find one vendor taking orders for the EAP610-outdoor . However, he is taking pre- orders and claiming he will ship next month.

however , I looked at the vendors rating. I have never seen so many complaints in my life... mostly from people who ordered stuff and never got them ....

so this one vendor is trying to capitalize on the fact that TP-Link promised this access point and has yet to come through. People have made system upgrade or construction plans based on this 17 month old press release and now this guy is hoping that people are so desperate that they will hand over money for something that they will probably never receive.

TP-Link should never have put this press release out . It is leading to a potential nightmare for many commercial customers who made significant plans around this device over the last 17 months .
